Gingold Legal respects your privacy and is committed to collecting, maintaining, using and safeguarding personal information about you responsibly.  This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) applies to all of your use of www.gingoldlegal.com (the “Site”). 

This Policy describes how your personal information may be collected and will be treated only when you use the Site.  If we form an attorney-client relationship, you will provide more information to Gingold Legal directly, outside your use of the Site; that information may be protected by attorney-client concepts including confidentiality, the attorney-client privilege, the attorney work product doctrine or any other applicable protection.  It’s important that you understand that nothing in this Policy creates an attorney-client relationship with visitors to the Site; nor does this Policy reduce the protections of that relationship if and when we formally engage as attorney and client.

1. Information We Collect When You Visit GingoldLegal.com

Generally, Gingold Legal has no interest in collecting or using data about you personally.  Any personal data collected by the Site will be instances where you voluntarily provide information about yourself.  For example, when you fill out the Contact form asking us to contact you, you will be required to provide your name and e-mail address, and whatever information you add to a narrative message.  Or if you leave comments in response to our Blog entries, you also may provide your name, e-mail address, a website you are affiliated with and a comment.  If you otherwise contact us through the Site, such as by using an e-mail to our firm, you may provide additional contact or other personal information.

Like many commercial websites, our server logs capture may capture certain non-personal internet or other electronic network activity information.  That might include information regarding your operating system, browser software, IP (Internet Protocol) address, and the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstreams to, through and from the Site, including date and time.  We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

The Site also may use “cookies” and other technologies to help us understand which parts of the Site are the most popular, where our visitors are going, and how much time they spend there.  We may use cookies and other technologies to study traffic patterns on our Site, to make it even more rewarding as well as to study the effectiveness of our customer communications.  And we use cookies to customize your experience and provide greater convenience each time you interact with us.  You may be able to disable cookies in your browser settings; but please note that certain features of the Site may not be available or functional if cookies are disabled.

Gingold Legal never will share your personal information without your express consent.  For example, if you contact our firm through the Site with a potential legal matter, we may follow up and suggest to you that we use your information to refer the matter to another attorney.  And of course, when you publish a comment to a Blog entry, you are consenting to our sharing of whatever information you enter.

We will not provide your personal information to or share it with any third party for their own marketing purposes except in connection with requests you make that clearly involve third parties.  This might include publications produced by third parties or events that are presented or sponsored by third parties.  This will be made clear to you before you sign up for the publication or event.

The Site uses Google Analytics to help us understand who our visitors are and how they use our Site.  Technically then, some of your non-personal information will be shared with Google.  You can view Google’s privacy disclosures here.

4. Your Rights to Update or Remove Your Personal Information

Some of our Blog entries or other users’ comments may contain links to web sites that are not operated by or for Gingold Legal (“Third Party Sites”).  If you use these links, you will leave the Site. This Policy does not apply to Third Party Sites.  Gingold Legal does not control any Third Party Sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy policies, if they even have any.   We also do not endorse the Third Party Sites, or any information, software or other products or materials found there, or any results that may be obtained from using them.  If you decide to access any Third Party Sites linked from our Blog entries or comments, you should understand that you do so at your own risk.

6. Children’s Privacy

Gingold Legal is a law firm, and we provide legal services to business entities.  The Site and our services are not directed to children under the age of 16, and we have no interest in their personal information.  If we discover that we have received personal information from a child under the age of 16, we will destroy it immediately.

Gingold Legal uses measures that are appropriate to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorized or unlawful destruction or accidental loss.  The precautions we take include administrative, technical, and physical measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.  We also use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption on all web pages where personal information is required.  

Notwithstanding our best intentions, however, we cannot and do not provide any assurance that these measures will be sufficient to protect the information you choose to transmit to or through the Site.

8. Agreement; Policy Changes

By submitting your personal information on the Site you agree to the collection and use of your personal information on the basis described above.  If you do not agree, please do not provide any personal information via the Site.  

We may update this Policy from time to time to comply with changes in the law or to reflect changes in our data collection or use practices.  Please pay attention to the terms of the Policy at the time when you submit personal information through the Site.  Any information collected under previous versions of our Policy will then become subject to the terms of our new Policy.
